TOY Orlando

Our very own Teacher of the Year, Paula Mercer, is representing MCSD with pride as she attends the Teacher Lead Network—a statewide gathering of Florida’s most dedicated and impactful educators.

Paula is joined by an incredible trio of former MCSD District Teachers of the Year — Neda Jackson, Monica Horsley, and Kat Yarbrough — all lending their experience, heart, and leadership to this powerful network. Together, they’re participating in trainings, special events, and even had the opportunity to meet Interim Commissioner of Education Paul Burns.

What makes this experience truly special is the mission behind it:

Teachers from across Florida are coming together to strengthen their skills in mentoring fellow educators, with one shared goal — positively impacting student outcomes far beyond their own classrooms.

We are so proud of Paula and our past honorees for continuing to elevate Monroe County Schools and for modeling what leadership, collaboration, and passion for teaching look like.

Here’s to the ripple effect they’re creating across our district and across the state.
