MCSD was honored to welcome Florida State Teacher of the Year, Mark Harrison, to Monroe County this week with stops at Coral Shores High School and Plantation Key School and visits to other schools as he travels throughout the Keys.
Harrison, a high school teacher from Union County, has spent this year traveling across Florida, and he was genuinely impressed by the teachers and students he met here—especially the outstanding CTE and marine science programs at CSHS, along with the energetic academic and band classes at both schools.
He shared his inspiring message of “making a difference” with our principals and School Teachers of the Year, and he loved speaking with students, encouraging them to get involved, stay curious, and take pride in their schools. His stories from the road resonated with everyone he met.
