VFW Essay Contest

Two outstanding students from Key West High School have earned top honors in the 2025 VFW Voice of Democracy Audio Essay competition! Ed Walters of VFW Southernmost Post 3911 proudly presented the awards to 2nd place sophomore Benjamin W. Delostrinos, and senior Caylee T. Moore, 1st Place winner.

Principal Rebecca Palomino shared how incredibly proud she is of these students for representing KWHS with distinction. Social Studies Coordinator Caroline Bleske expressed her appreciation for their participation in a contest that highlights civic responsibility, patriotism, and thoughtful reflection on our nation’s founding ideals.

Their achievement is especially meaningful as we celebrate the 250th anniversary of our country, honoring the principles of freedom and democracy that continue to inspire new generations. Congratulations to these talented young leaders for making our school and community proud!
