Literacy Week in the Monroe County School District brought an incredible burst of energy to our schools as students and staff celebrated Florida’s theme, “Read, White, and Blue: Celebrating 250 Chapters of America!”
Classrooms were filled with guest readers from district departments, the School Board and Community Members, sharing stories with students of all ages. Teachers, literacy coaches, and media specialists planned creative activities that highlighted the joy and power of reading.
While literacy remains a year‑round priority in Monroe County, this special week helps elevate awareness and strengthen the partnership between schools, families, and the community as we work together to support every student’s growth as a reader.
