Three student filmmakers from Key West High School will walk the red carpet in New York City's Times Square this October after their films were chosen as finalists in the All American High School Film Festival. The festival - the largest such film competition in the world - features entries from all 50 states and 43 countries.

The films will be seen on the big screen at the iconic AMC Empire 25 Theater, the busiest movie theater in the world. These talented KWHS students are in the running for $600,000 in scholarship prizes.

 

"This is truly a testament to their creativity, dedication and passion for production and storytelling," said Ed Smith, Digital Media Instructor at Key West High. 

 

The three films that will be showcased include:

 

Animation: "Drinking Until There's No Reality" by Jazlyn La'Shae Martin from Key West, FL

Broadcast Journalism Feature Story: "Key West Sheriff's Office Animal Farm", by Rylan Anthony Owens & Sabastain Dubyk from Key West, FL

Documentary: "Zero Turbulence: A Documentary", by Alena Tralenko & Ronnie Tebag from Key West, FL
