    Twilight Turkey Trot 2011
It is almost impossible to describe the palpable energy before a foot race. The scene: sun sinking low over the bay at Founder's Park. Runners, from 7 -70 lining up for the start of the 5k, fans and supporters of TVM there to cheer them on, and the watch them dash off into the sunset. What a joyful funraiser! The annuaevent raises funds for TVM, MARC House and Burton Memorial Food Pantry.

Art Prive' – "Recycled Master Pieces" 2010-2011

Art Privé—now in it's 5th year-is the result of collaboration between ten Treasure Village Montessori students and master artist Stacie Krupa. Each student worked one-on-one with Ms. Krupa to create a painting, and also with their TVM art teacher Diana McGuirk-Hille. The art is then auctioned at a fabulous dinner gala. This year we raised more money for our M.A.P.S program than in the event's history. The Masterpieces they created are amazing! Check out Ms. Krupa's work at Stacie Krupa Studio Gallery of Art.

    Art with "Pasta"

Art with Pasta is one of two collaborative programs that combine well known and talented Florida keys-based artists with our Montessori school students of all ages and abilities. Last year the theme was Hippie Day. The goal of this program is to expose students to a range of techniques and skills, then to produce art and follow the path a piece of art takes into the business arena. Reproduction, framing, pricing and marketing all contribute and play a role in the success of many artists. Artist Roberto "Pasta" Pantaleo says the other goals are simply to have some fun and teach students they all have artistic abilities. Their smiles attest to that! Visit Pasta's Signature Gallery

    Field Trips & Adventures

Treasure Village Montessori Field trips act as extensions of the regular classroom and often happen on a monthly basis at every grade level from VPK through Middle school. Sure they're a blast— but Field Trips also promote team building and give opportunities to put communication and etiquette skills to practice while learning about curriculum related topics. Some of the 2010-2011 school year adventures chronicled in our slide show included a trip to Washington DC for the 5th grade class; Peace River Trip for Middle School classes; St Augustine Field Trip for 3rd grade; Martini Party for Treasure Village Montessori staff and parent; a Key West Historical Tour for grades 2 and 3, and many more.

    Physical Education at Founders Park

PE, for 4th grade elementary school students through 8th grade middle school students, takes place every Friday throughout the school year at Founders Park. The state of Florida requires a minimum of 150 minutes a week of physical education activity. Treasure Village Montessori organizes and implements a variety of sports with the goal of team building, skill building and to encourage participation in a sport in secondary education. Year after year, students hone skills in various sports including sailing, swimming, tennis, lacrosse, soccer and baseball. Ballroom dancing is also looking for a component in the program, teaching students much needed social skills and etiquette.

School Spirit & Treasure Village Montessori Student Council 2010-2011

School spirit days are organized by the Treasure Village Montessori student council to encourage school spirit. The Junior Student Council made up of students in grades 4-5, and Senior Student Council made up of students in middle school grades are set at the start of the school year. Elected members' goal is to promote school spirit and keeping members of student body informed through monthly meetings and school happenings. They sponsor school dances and raise funds through school spirit days such as Hat Day, Pajama Day and Sports Team Day to support important causes or supply items for Treasure Village Montessori such as playground balls.
