Mrs. Brownโs 6th and 7th grade AVID Elective classes recently had the privilege of welcoming guest speaker FWC Officer Liam Rodriguez.
Officer Rodriguez visited to share important information about current manatee laws and protections, along with other key facts about manatees in Florida. His presentation helped students better understand how wildlife laws connect to conservation efforts and the protection of our local ecosystems.
This visit directly supported studentsโ Everglades Action Project, giving them real-world insight and up-to-date information they can use in their work. Students came prepared with thoughtful questions and actively took focus notes throughout the presentation.
We are grateful to Officer Rodriguez for taking the time to support student learning and help bring awareness to the importance of protecting Floridaโs manatees and natural environment.
