Jayden

Our first and second grade students had the privilege of welcoming Jayden Ferrell for a truly inspiring visit. Alongside Ms. Zofchak, students engaged in meaningful conversations about disabilities, perseverance, and overcoming challenges.

Jayden, who is blind and currently a college student at Florida International University, read a book to the classes in braille, giving students a firsthand look at how braille supports literacy and independence. He also shared the tools and strategies he uses to succeed in college, offering powerful insight into determination, resilience, and self-advocacy.

As a special keepsake, Jayden typed every single student’s name in braille for them to take home β€” a thoughtful and meaningful gesture that made the experience even more personal and memorable.

Our students were so engaged and curious that they didn’t even want to leave for recess! We are grateful to Jayden for sharing his story and inspiring our young learners with such a powerful and unforgettable visit. πŸ’™
