Key Largo School was proud to host a visit from the AVID National team this week, welcoming a group of AVID leaders along with Coral Shores High School students, Deputy Superintendent Amber Acevedo, and AVID CEO Thuan Nguyen.
During classroom walk-throughs, visitors observed outstanding instruction taking place across grades Kโ8. Students were actively engaged in learning through high-level questioning, academic discussions, and collaborative strategies, demonstrating how AVID practices empower students to take ownership of their learning.
As a National AVID Demonstration School, Key Largo School showcased its strong commitment to student-centered instruction and academic excellence. The visit concluded with a meaningful exchange of ideas among student ambassadors, high school students, and AVID staff, highlighting the value of student voice and cross-grade collaboration.
