As DΓa de los Muertos (Day of the Dead) approaches on November 1β2, we celebrate the rich cultural traditions that honor and remember loved ones who have passed away. β€οΈ
DΓa de los Muertos is not the Hispanic version of Halloween. While Mexico is known for its colorful altars and festive celebrations, other Hispanic and Latin American countries observe this meaningful occasion through prayers, cemetery visits, traditional foods, and family gatherings.
π Although traditions vary across countries, they share a common purpose: keeping the memories of loved ones alive across generations.
At Monroe County School District, we celebrate the cultural diversity of our school communities and the importance of learning about and respecting traditions from around the world.
