MCSD Professional Learning Day in Marathon was bursting with energy today — the kind of energy that reminds you exactly why Monroe County School District is such a special place. Over 600 teachers, specialists, and administrators filled the campus for a full day of learning, reconnecting, and gearing up for an incredible new year.
The smiles, hugs, and heartfelt greetings said it all. Our people showed up with purpose, passion, and pride — and the welcome-back warmth was felt in every hallway.
Superintendent Ed Tierney set the tone with powerful highlights from our data, celebrating the district’s A rating, rising ELA scores, strong graduation rates, and impressive social studies gains. A moment of true collective achievement.
Our School Board Members — John Dick, Darren Horan, Mindy Conn, and Sue Woltanski — shared uplifting remarks and well wishes, cheering on our educators as they prepare to launch another year of excellence.
The day wrapped with prize drawings, big kudos to our phenomenal presenters, and a wave of enthusiasm that’s ready to roll straight into August 12th when our students walk through the doors.
