Plantation Key School’s Ocean Guardian Club proudly planted the district’s 5th garden in the District's ongoing participation in NOAA's Ocean Guardian Program.
A heartfelt thank you to Mrs. Wenzel’s students, our dedicated volunteers, community partners, and district leadership for bringing this native species garden to life.
The Ocean Guardian Program, managed by the National Oceanic and Atmospheric Administration (NOAA), empowers Pre-K–12 schools to take an active role in protecting and conserving their local watersheds, the world’s ocean, and special marine areas such as national marine sanctuaries.
Participating schools receive small grants to implement school or community-based conservation projects that contribute to the health and protection of their local environment and the ocean. Upon successful completion of their project and approval at the end of the school year, schools earn the official designation of Ocean Guardian School and receive a commemorative banner.
