School bus safety week

October 20–24, 2025  is National Bus Safety Week. The Theme is: “Safe Stops. Stronger Communities”

This week, we join districts across the country in recognizing the vital role school buses play in keeping our students safe and connected. From the moment they step aboard to the time they arrive home, every stop matters—and every person plays a part.

Let’s work together to ensure safe travels for all. Here are a few key tips to keep in mind:
✅ Drivers: Always stop for flashing red lights and extended stop arms. Stay alert in school zones and neighborhoods.
✅ Students: Wait for the bus in a safe spot, away from traffic. Use handrails and follow the driver’s instructions.
✅ Families: Teach children to look both ways before crossing and to never chase a bus.
✅ Community Members: Slow down near bus stops and be extra cautious during pickup and drop-off times.

Our bus drivers are everyday heroes—navigating roads, building relationships, and ensuring every child arrives safely. Let’s honor their work by doing our part to keep our roads safe.
