Ms. Shoemaker traveled to Miami with 68 students and 4 chaperones where they visited the Holocaust Memorial. Ms. Shoemaker shared that "They [the students] were attentive and asked great questions of the Holocaust survivor. The trip seemed to really bring our novel Night by Elie Wiesel and all that we learned to life. They represented KWHS and MCSD in such a way that the bus drivers, Memorial security, docents, and anyone we met along the way praised them, their behavior, and how they handled themselves in such a tough and sensitive place. "
