Thanks to the Key West Citizen and Florida Keys Free Press for their article March 26th celebrating Women's History Month and recognizing the three women who currently lead our county high schools.
In Monroe County, all three public high schools are led by female principals—Rebecca Palomino (Key West), Christine Paul (Marathon), and Laura Lietaert (Coral Shores).
All three are also remarkably alumni of the schools they now lead, reflecting a strong connection to their communities.
Palomino, Lietaert and Paul began their careers in the classroombefore moving into school leadership roles, eventually being named to the top position in each school.
Today, their experience as educators continues to shape their leadership, with a focus on supporting teachers, engaging students, and strengthening school communities.
Serving in the same schools they once attended brings their journeys full circle and highlights their shared commitment to student success in Monroe County.
Read more about these amazing women in the March 26th editions of the Key West Citizen Newspaper and the Florida Keys Free Press.
