Mrs. Paula Mercer has been an educator since 1999 and has taught a wide range of subjects, including middle school social studies, global business, leadership, regular and AP Government and Macroeconomics. She has also served as a class sponsor, Student Council sponsor, and Mock Trial/Debate sponsor, continually fostering student leadership and engagement.
Mrs. Mercer began her career at KWHS as a long-term substitutes for AP U.S. History and Biology before becoming a full-time member of the Conch family. Her favorite subject to teach is Constitutional Law, reflecting her passion for civic education and critical thinking.
Respected by both her colleagues and students, Mrs. Mercer is known for her enthusiasm, creativity, and dedication to making learning meaningful. A fun fact about her: she collects festive dollar-store headbands for every holiday and enjoys dressing up to bring energy and visual connection to her lessons - a tradition her students love and look forward to each season.
