Today, Gerald Adams hosted a wonderful Thanksgiving lunch for our parents and students! Everyone enjoyed a delicious meal filled with all the traditional Thanksgiving fixings — and even more smiles and laughter.
A huge thank you to our amazing cafeteria staff for preparing such a tasty and heartwarming feast. Your hard work and dedication help make moments like this so special for our school family. 💛

In an open letter to Florida Parents, the Florida Commissioner of Education, Anastasios Kamoutsas announced increased scores for students as shown in progress monitoring for this school year. In the letter, he says in part:
"When I became Commissioner of Education in July 2025, I set two priorities for Florida’s schools: student safety and academic achievement. I am pleased to share that progress monitoring results for the 2025-2026 school year continue to show students succeeding thanks to Florida’s first-in-the-nation progress monitoring assessments."

"In addition, the Florida Department of Education is proud to provide parent resources for student success in Mathematics and English Language Arts to help families support learning at home. Each guide outlines key concepts and skills taught by grade level, defines important terms, and offers practical activities and questions to encourage learning beyond the classroom – all aligned to the B.E.S.T. Standards. "

During National School Lunch Week and National Bus Safety Week, we proudly celebrate the dedicated professionals who nourish and transport our students with care and positivity. From the smiling faces in our cafeterias to the steady hands behind the wheel, these everyday heroes create safe, welcoming environments that help our students thrive. Their commitment strengthens our schools and reflects the heart of what makes our district great.
Mrs. Orcutt visited the 1st-grade classroom for a classroom guidance lesson on honesty and making good choices. She read "Ricky Sticky Fingers" by Julia Cook, a story that helps students understand the importance of being honest and not taking things that don't belong to them.
Mr. Walton's 5th-grade class has teamed up with Mrs. Yarboro's first-grade class to participate in Reading Buddies. Our fifth-grade students are developing valuable leadership skills by taking responsibility for their younger buddies and demonstrating effective communication and listening skills to support our first graders.
Kindergarten celebrated Johnny Appleseed Day with a fun-filled day all about apples. Our little learners gathered together to create adorable apple hats, craft beautiful apple art, taste delicious apples, and enjoy a variety of apple-themed activities.
Ms. Davis had lunch with her students, who earned their PBIS behavior reward. These students are working hard on setting a positive example in their classroom.

Start With Hello Week is a national campaign, created by Sandy Hook Promise, that encourages students to combat social isolation by making new connections and creating a more inclusive and empathetic school culture.
