students doing science experiment

Sixth-grade scientists at Marathon High School put their knowledge to the test this week with a hands-on investigation of density.

Students wrapped up their density review by comparing the densities of different liquids and solids, taking concepts they have learned in class and putting them into action.

The activity gave students an opportunity to observe how different materials behave, make comparisons and connect their classroom learning to real-world science.

Hands-on activities like this allow students to do more than simply read about scientific concepts — they get to see science in action!
