Marathon High School is celebrating the accomplishments of 2026 graduate Adriana Calvo, who was selected as the 2026 Youth Speaker for the opening general session of the CADCA Mid-Year Training Institute in Orlando.

Representing Marathon High School's Champions for Change program and the Monroe County Coalition, Calvo addressed an audience of more than 3,000 prevention professionals and youth prevention leaders from across the nation. Her inspiring presentation highlighted the importance of youth leadership in substance use prevention and showcased the impact that young people can have in their communities.

Calvo has been actively involved in drug and alcohol prevention efforts since the eighth grade, dedicating years to educating her peers, advocating for healthy choices, and serving as a leader within Monroe County. Her selection as the conference's featured youth speaker is a testament to her commitment and passion for prevention.

In addition to Calvo's presentation, four current Marathon High School Champions for Change members attended the conference to learn about the latest prevention trends, evidence-based strategies, and leadership practices. The students will bring these ideas back to Marathon High School and the Monroe County community to continue strengthening local prevention initiatives.
