studeints with giant check

Two Marathon High School students are taking their leadership and prevention efforts beyond the Keys this summer after earning prestigious Reach for Greatness Grants through the Champions for Change program.

MHS Champions for Change members Elizabeth Perez and Alyssa De La Torre received the grants to support summer enrichment opportunities, allowing them to attend the CADCA Mid-Year Prevention Training in Orlando alongside fellow student leaders from across the state.

During the conference, Perez and De La Torre will participate in prevention education workshops, leadership development activities and peer collaboration sessions designed to strengthen youth advocacy and community engagement skills. The experience will prepare both students to expand peer-to-peer prevention initiatives and leadership efforts at Marathon High School and throughout the local community during the upcoming school year.

The opportunity highlights the continued commitment of Marathon’s student leaders to promoting positive decision-making, mentorship and community involvement both on and off campus.
