Marathon HS student-athlete Christopher Paul has signed to continue his football and academic career with the Coe College Kohawks in Cedar Rapids, Iowa.
Paul, a four-year varsity starter with Marathon's football team has demonstrated exceptional dedication, leadership and performance throughout his high school career. During his time at Marathon, he has earned the following awards - All Keys Football First Team Senior year, Outstanding Offensive Lineman for the 2025 Season, Marathon Special Teams Player of the year for the 2024 Season.
At Coe College, Christopher plans on pursuing a major in Criminal Justice. On the gridiron, Paul will be specializing in the long snapper position.
During Christopher’s time at MHS, he has maintained excellent grades while actively participating in numerous school activities. He is a member of the weightlifting team and has been involved in the Marathon High School Band and Jazz Band throughout all four years of high school, where he has played the clarinet, saxophone, and bass guitar. He attended the Florida FBINA Youth Leadership Academy in 2023 and participated in Boys State in 2025, where he was elected sheriff. Christopher is also an active member of his class and has completed over 100 community service hours. He has completed a rigorous courseload, meeting the criteria for the Fine Arts, Scholar, and Industry Scholar diploma distinctions.
Paul is the son of Marathon High School Principal Christine Paul and Monroe County Sheriff’s Office Captain Derek Paul, both proud graduates of Marathon High School.
Marathon head coach Sean McDonald said, “Christopher Paul is what Marathon football is all about; four years of commitment without ever missing a practice, a selfless teammate who moved from tight end to center when his team needed him most, a dependable long snapper, and a young man of outstanding character from a proud football family. He didn’t just play the game; he represented everything our program stands for.”
Christopher's signing reflects his hard work and commitment, as well as the support of his family, coaches, teammates, and school community.
Christopher Paul becomes the sixth Marathon Dolphins football player in the last four years to continue to the college level.
