readers with certificates

On Wednesday, April 22, Marathon High School proudly celebrated student achievement during the Superintendent Reading Award Ceremony, recognizing approximately 70 middle and high school students who met the established reading criteria. The event was organized by school media specialist Jeanette Medero, whose efforts helped create a special opportunity to honor students for their commitment to reading.

Reading is one of the most important foundations for academic success and lifelong growth. Strong reading habits support achievement across all subject areas, build critical thinking skills, expand vocabulary, and open doors to new ideas and opportunities well beyond the classroom.

Marathon High School Principal Christine Paul and District Director of Instructional Resources and AVID Dr. Sarah Adams were present to recognize and celebrate the students for their hard work and accomplishment.

As an added incentive, all students who met the criteria were entered into a drawing to win a Kindle. Congratulations to Dylan G., who won for middle school, and Cindy A., who won for high school.

Marathon High School is proud of these students for demonstrating that a love of reading leads to success in school and in life.
