Marathon, FL – Students at Marathon High School had a unique opportunity to engage in the democratic process on campus as Sherri Hodies, Supervisor of Elections for Monroe County, visited seniors to provide information on voter registration and the importance of civic participation.

During the visit, Hodies spoke with students about their rights and responsibilities as future voters, emphasizing the vital role informed and active citizens play in sustaining a strong democracy. Seniors were guided through the voter registration process and encouraged to take this important step as they approach eligibility.

In her presentation, Hodies shared that registering to vote is more than a milestone; t is a meaningful way for young adults to make their voices heard and contribute to their communities.
