On November 20, seniors from Marathon High School took part in an immersive career exploration visit to Baptist Hospital in Marathon, where they learned firsthand what it takes to pursue a career in nursing. Marathon health teacher Cathy Warner and CCAPS counselor Sean McDonald helped arrange the trip with representatives of Baptist South.

The participating students had previously expressed interest in nursing or health-related fields. During the visit, Baptist Hospital staff provided interactive, hands-on learning activities designed to introduce students to essential nursing skills and the daily responsibilities of health care professionals. Students also had the opportunity to ask questions, explore career pathways, and gain valuable insight into whether nursing or a related medical career would be a strong fit for their future goals.

“We are grateful to Baptist Hospital for opening their doors and giving our students such meaningful real-world exposure,” said Sean McDonald, Marathon College and Careers Counselor. “Experiences like this help students make informed decisions about their futures and inspire them to pursue careers that make a difference.”

Marathon High School extends its appreciation to the dedicated team at Baptist Hospital for their partnership and commitment to supporting local students as they explore potential career paths.
