Marathon High School celebrated a successful and engaging EL Night on November 18, 2025, welcoming English Language Learner (ELL) students and their families for an evening focused on connection, support, and academic success.
The event was organized and led by MHS Monroe Association of Governing Students (MAGS) representatives Viviana Matos, Elianys Roque, Ashley Rasmussen, and Adriana Calvo, who designed and delivered a thoughtful presentation aimed at helping families better understand the resources available for ELL students. Their presentation highlighted key supports on campus, the importance of consistent attendance, academic engagement, and ways students can become more involved in school activities.
“Events like EL Night strengthen the partnership between our school and our families,” said Christine Paul, Principal of Marathon High School. “Our MAGS students did an outstanding job connecting our English Language Learners with the people and programs here to support them. We are proud of their leadership and grateful to our families for being such active participants in their children’s education.”
Students and their families also enjoyed a pizza dinner, providing time to build relationships, ask questions, and engage with staff in a welcoming and supportive environment.
Marathon High School extends its appreciation to the MAGS representatives, staff, students, and families who contributed to making EL Night a meaningful and successful event. The school remains committed to providing valuable resources and fostering a strong sense of community for all students.
