Marathon High School is proud to announce that student-athletes Alex Chavala and Cindy Augustin captured gold medals at the recent Special Olympics powerlifting competition.
Both competitors demonstrated outstanding strength and perseverance throughout the event.
After sitting in second place following the bench press portion, Chavala and Augustin delivered exceptional performances in the deadlift to secure first place finishes.
Their dedication, discipline, and determination truly embody the spirit of Marathon High School athletics. Coaches and teammates alike are incredibly proud of their achievements and the way they represented the school community.
“These two athletes gave everything they had,” said coach Cathy . “They worked hard, stayed focused, and showed what it means to never give up.”
