As part of the Monroe County School District’s ongoing commitment to supporting student well-being, mental health awareness, and suicide prevention education, students will have the opportunity to attend a special school day performance of “Dear Evan Hansen”.
The Key Players will be performing for Coral Shores 10th and 11th grade students on September 29th.
The production is intended to foster empathy, awareness, and thoughtful discussions about issues that affect many young people today. While these topics are presented responsibly and with educational value, we recognize that families may have different preferences regarding their child’s exposure to this material.
Parents/guardians that would prefer to opt their student out of this production can pick-up an Opt Out form from the Front Office. Counseling staff will also be available at the production for students that wish to speak with someone.
Parents/guardians that would like to become more familiar with the content and themes of “Dear Evan Hansen” are welcome to attend a public performance presented by the Key Players. Details are available on their website, linked below.
The Key Players is a nonprofit community theater serving the Upper Keys, made up of many students and community members with strong ties to our local schools. We look forward to welcoming “Dear Evan Hansen” to Coral Shores and sharing this important message with our students.
