PBIS is the application of evidence-based strategies and systems to assist schools to increase academic performance, increase safety, decrease problem behavior, and establish positive school cultures. PBIS methods are research-based and proven to significantly reduce the occurrence of problem behaviors in the school, resulting in a more positive school climate and increased academic performance. Here at Key Largo School, students are given POWERbucks for positive behavior which they can use to pay for PBIS activities such as dress down days, PBIS snack cart and store, PBIS dances, Movies on the Lawn, and more!
