MCSD GEMS Recipients for February

PKS school PTA earns GEMS recognition

Plantation Key School GEMS

Plantation Key PTA is PAWSOME! The PTA Team continues to provide support for student supplies, teacher professional development, PBIS, Readers are Leaders, Safety Patrol and MORE. They recently hosted a 5 K run and raised almost $20,000.00 for Plantation Key School. The annual fish fry with a holiday concert in December was a great event! Families enjoyed in a delicious fish fry and were entertained by the songs of the season.  We are so proud of all their hard work and dedication to our PKS families.

CSHS robotics club gets gems recognition


In its first Vex Robotics competition the Coral Shores 0-Day Robotics Club advanced  to the quarterfinals of the Jinglebot Tournament on Dec. 21 at South Dade High School.  We competed and teamed up with 37 other teams from public, private and tech schools from South Florida area.

KLS student Kamal Al-Hamid gets gems recognition

Key Largo School student Kamal Al-Hamid was selected for All-State Band for trumpet.

John Dick gets gems recognition

GEMS “Super Hero Award”:Mr. Dick has been  working to keep outstanding educators in MCSD by  finding available resources for MCSD staff who continue to face Irma challenges
