Say Something Week teaches awareness

See Something photosSay Something Week is part of the Monroe County School District’s collaboration with the Sandy Hook Promise national organization. Last week, members of the Sandy Hook Promise SAVE Promise Clubs did activities to teach and bring awareness to violence prevention in schools. Say Something week is focused on teaching students the warning signs and signals of a student’s threat of harm to themselves or others. It also teaches students to act immediately and See Something Weekseek out a trusted adult if these warning signs and signals are seen. Each day of the week, students across the district participated in events at their school to emphasize the importance that if they see something, they must Say Something. We encourage to tell a trusted adult, use the school text tip lines or Fortify-FL, a button located on each school and district website.
