Book Vending Machine will promote reading

Book Vending Machine will promote readingPoinciana Elementary unveiled a Book Vending Machine to their student body at the start of the second semester.   The machine will be used to support the PBIS and iBElieve program that celebrates students’ academic and behavioral success.  It also promotes a love for reading in a fun and engaging way.

Thanks to Keys to Be the Change for donating the funds to purchase the Book Vending Machine,  the school's Parent Teacher Organization (PTO) for donating funds to purchase books to fill the machine, and the parents who donated funding for the first set of books.

Students and teachers are excited about this addition to the PBIS program.  When students are respectful,  responsible, and ready to learn, they can earn a token to “purchase” a book that is theirs to keep.

On hand for the ceremony were members of the Keys to Be the Change Board Chief Sean Brandenburg, Andrea Spottswood, Jody Smith, and Heidi Golightly, Principal Tara Whitehead, School Board Member Dr. Sue Woltanski and PTO President Margaret Lara.
