SOS Food Tasting

The SOS Foundation would like to extend a thank you to the students and staff of Gerald Adams Elementary School for participating in our Taste Test, held in celebration of Earth Month! SOS offered each student a sample after making a delicious, veggie-packed ratatouille pasta sauce with cherry tomatoes, onions, garlic, eggplant, bell peppers, and zucchini. Chosen because the peppers, zucchini, and cherry tomatoes were grown right here in Florida, the recipe features locally sourced produce which is often cheaper, fresher, and tastier! 69% of students voted that they would like to try this again, and many students asked for seconds! SOS had an amazing time teaching students about seasonality and the benefits of eating local food while introducing new food. Click below to view the recipe.
