Monroe County School District Celebrates Sphero Robotics Champions

Monroe County School District proudly congratulates our outstanding Sphero robotics teams from Sugarloaf School on their phenomenal success in the World Sphero Global Robotics Challenge! Under the expert guidance of their dedicated coach and STEM educator, Mrs. Alena Ellerbee, these talented students demonstrated extraordinary skill, teamwork, and innovation on a global stage.

The prestigious competition challenged students to code and navigate complex robotic tasks, design and present a strategic PowerPoint, and collaborate through hours of problem-solving and refinement. Monroe County's young robotics pioneers rose to the occasion, securing remarkable rankings worldwide:

  • Team SigmaWorld Champions! 🏆 (Chloe Huffman, Jose Carlos Escobar, Liam Powell, and Calvin Lee)
  • Team Pink Flamingos3rd place in the world! (Collin Palomino, Rusty McKinley, and Colton Johnson)
  • Team Pythons8th place globally! (Everett Ward, Jacob Perdomo, and Maliyah Bailey)
