Marathon High School Hosts Senior Seminar to Prepare Students for the Future
On March 5th, Marathon High School hosted  a Senior Seminar, an event designed to equip graduating seniors with the tools and knowledge they need for success in their final months of high school and beyond. Organized by Principal Christine Paul, the seminar provided students with essential guidance on financial aid, career opportunities, and academic planning.
“Our goal is to ensure that every senior leaves Marathon High School feeling confident and prepared for their next steps, whether that’s college, vocational training, or entering the workforce,” said Principal Paul. “This seminar is about giving them direct access to the resources, knowledge, and community connections that will help them thrive.”
The event featured valuable sessions on writing scholarship essays, completing the Free Application for Federal Student Aid (FAFSA), and navigating the Bright Futures scholarship program. In addition, students participated in small-group discussions with local professionals, learning firsthand about career opportunities available in the Marathon community, including the fire department, law enforcement, local dive shops, and more.
The intimate, interactive format of the seminar allowed students to engage in meaningful conversations, ask questions, and explore career paths they may not have previously considered. By bringing in community members and industry professionals, Marathon High School reinforced its commitment to preparing students for a successful transition into adulthood.
