School Public Accountability Reports
July 25, 2006
Dear Parents, Guardians, and Community Members of Monroe County:
No Child Left Behind (NCLB) federal legislation (with which Florida is in compliance, per s. 1008.31[1][c], Florida Statutes) requires that school districts provide parents with an annual school status report prior to the beginning of each school year.
Each year schools in Monroe County continue the school improvement process by developing a strategic School Improvement Plan, addressing Florida’s System of School Improvement and Accountability goals, with special emphasis on Goal Area 3, which addresses student performance. It is imperative that all of us have the best information available in order to make wise decisions about the programs and services provided to our students.
The following reports contains
information about Monroe County School and the students who attend the
schools. Research has shown that students are successful
in schools that have active participation from parents, business
and community partners, and other volunteers. Volunteers have contributed
thousands of hours to help provide the very best educational opportunities
for our students. We solicit your input and questions. Your involvement
is essential to the success of our students and to the continued
improvement of our schools.
Randy
Acevedo, Superintendent of Schools
