Press Releases:
Dec. 7, Last Day to Send Stockings to Troops
TAVERNIER, Fla. (143 words) – December 7 is the day many remember
veterans killed or injured at Pearl Harbor in 1941. This year it’s also the
last day to remember U.S. veterans now serving overseas with “Stockings for
the Troops.”
For a $10 donation the American Red Cross ships a camouflage stocking to
a soldier stationed overseas in places like Iraq and Afghanistan. After
taking a poll of what soldiers wanted in the stockings, the Red Cross
stuffed them with a phone card, socks, toiletries, and candy.
Donors can write their name and message on a thank you card attached to
the stocking. |
