1st Annual KCMSE Math and Science Bowl

Who:  5th grade students at KLS, PKS, SSE
What:  Math and Science Competition
When:  Saturday, May 10, 2008 at 9am - 12noon
Where:  Coral Shores Media Center

Registration will be $20 per team of 4 students.  Registration covers awards, snacks, and competition supplies and a t-shirt for each participant.  Teams must be registered by April 11th.  Teachers/schools can bring as many teams as you want, so start gathering kids who are interested!  If you would like to know more contact Tiffany Absten-Murphy at PKS.

Practice materials to get started:
Blank Math Bowl, explains how the competition will work and has screens where you can paste in any problem.  The problem screens have a timer built in, so you can easily see how much time has passed as the kids are working.
Math Bowl  Examples has some problems pasted into it, so you can see how it will look. 
Example answer sheets has answer sheets similar to the kind the kids will have in May.  They don’t exactly match the second PowerPoint, but you can re-order them to practice. 

If you want to put more problems in the blank PowerPoint, you can open an old released FCAT test or the online version of Sunshine Math and do “print screen” to easily create more practice.
